Someone in West Palm Beach took some camcorder footage of the filming of a scene from the upcoming Parker film starring Jason Statham. You probably don’t want to sit through all four minutes of this, as it’s mostly helicopters flying around starting at dusk and continuing into night, but once you’ve got the gist, skip ahead to 3:17 and watch the patrol boats and the operation of the bridge.
(Incredibly minor spoiler alert.)

they will show a “real” first look at the film this Monday night on ET.
Whoa! Damn, Eloise, thanks for that heads-up! Normally I wouldn’t watch ET if you paid me, but you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be watching it Monday!:-)
Thanks for the heads up! I am setting my DVR right now!
also since it’s ET they will focus on a scene with Jennifer Lopez character I bet, I saw a 2s preview it was the scene where Parker ask Leslie to remove her clothes to see if she has a wire, but since they’re showing something the full trailer should be out this week.
I’ll probably be working when this airs and I don’t have a DVR yet due to the move, so if someone can report back, or, better yet, record and post the video, I’d be appreciative.
IGN has the Poster: http://uk.ign.com/articles/2012/10/01/exclusive-poster-debut-parker
I wish I knew how to do what you ask, Trent! I’m basically a Luddite when it comes to technology. Maybe someone who actually knows how to work their computer could oblige.
I’ll definitely give my impression after I see it. Eloise is right, part of the preview is Lopez stripping, I saw it on a coming attraction.
The poster is blah. I personally never imagined Parker having that squinty, looks-like-he’s-straining-on-the-commode-after-all you can eat Taco night-look. In my mind’s eye, Parker usually had a blank look, like he was just going through the motions, even when he was killing someone. But that’s Statham’s “look” so I guess we all just have to shrug and accept it.
Just saw the Parker snippet: so-so. The announcer calls Parker a master-of-disguise and shows Statham wearing a white wig, glasses and a Priest’s uniform. That’s not in Flashfire, is it? I haven’t flipped through the novel in a while, so I could be wrong. I remember the Yachting Cap, Mustache, and Blazer. But a White wig, glasses and Priest’s collar?
I don’t know–not much you can tell from this 30 second preview. But I’m inclined to believe they’ll fudge this up. I’m still gonna be first in line at the theater though.
I’m with you on that Dave. I think the only disguise he wore in Flashfire was the mustachioed househunter with the yachting cap. Ultimately I don’t care if he wears another disguise in the movie for one reason or another, so long as he’s not portrayed as “Parker: Man of Many Faces” or some shit like that. That quick glimpse didn’t show any kung-foolery so I’m at least pleased about that. There was one quip at the end when Lopez asks him how he sleeps at night and he says “I don’t drink coffee after 7pm”. Hardy har har. Oh well, could be worse – and it may well be. We will know for sure on January 25th!
Agreed, Clue. One or two more disguises is OK as long as he doesn’t become Rollin Hand from Mission: Impossible.;-) lol
Dave:
That bit may have been inspired by Comeback. I know, or think I know, that the flick borrows an action setpiece from one of the later books (don’t remember which). Maybe this is a similar deal.
Dave and Clue:
I have faith (since we’re talking about priests) that “master of disguise” is not the direction the movie and possible franchise will go in. I’m trusting a couple of folks involved who were friends and worked with DEW here, who reached out to me. They say that they are keeping it relatively faithful and that the estate (very protective of Parker) is pleased. Knock on wood.
The fact that a couple people in the know have confided in you that it’s relatively accurate is what’s keeping me from losing all hope in this project, Trent. I’m not expecting a cinematic masterpiece, just something half-way faithful.
bad quality can’t hear much but that’s all I found so far : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEkIJJs1k6Q
