This 1992 large print edition cover from Atlantic Mystery is courtesy of Patrick, who writes, “I forgot what Westlake’s description of Parker’s eyes were, but I’m certain they weren’t ‘doughy and apologetic’.” Exactly right, and I never pictured him with lush lips either. And Parker’s not married, so what’s with the ring? This cover gives the impression that they snapped a photo of the first guy who could show up with a prop gun and a ski mask in response to a classified ad.
