Don’t get your hopes up!
Comic book artist Francesco Francavilla pays tribute to two recently departed greats, Donald Westlake and frequent Shadow artist Edward D. Cartier, who left us on January 3rd at the age of 93, with his rendition of what the cover to a Shadow/Parker crossover might look like

There is often crossover between pulp fiction fans and Parker fans, so I know that some of you will get a kick out of this.

Dude! I went through several emotions very quickly there: curiousity, hope, confusion… For a brief instance, I almost thought that there was a posthumous Parker novel. Which makes me curious, I wonder what Westlake was working on before he died?
I don’t necessarily see a lot of crossover potential between Parker and The Shadow. I love them both and The Shadow was no pantywaist, but his techniques were much more psychological and strongly moralistic. I do not think they get would along.
