Just getting the cover and title page. I am using an iPad, and the wifi could be better, but I can play whole movies on this thing. Anybody else getting 15 mainly blank pages?
I had some problems with it on my laptop, but it seems to be working from my desktop.

Well, my desktop is about a thousand miles away, so I guess I’ll have to emulate Parker and cultivate the art of patience. :/

Parenthetically, Parker is not a ‘hired gun”‘, and why do I get the feeling that Grofield will get a series deal before Parker, even though he hates television?
Aside from the hired gun reference, the article was pretty good. Most of these articles are written by journalists who aren’t familiar with the source material, and it makes your mind boggle that there are editors who are paid very well indeed to double check these articles for factual errors, yet the errors still appear.
When JDM died, some network, I think CNN, announced: “Author Travis McGee, creator of the popular John D. MacDonald detective series, passed away yesterday…”
If you guys are talking about the link to the excerpt from The Score, I tried myself and that link is not working and I’m using my desktop PC. Amazon previews The Score, though, for anyone wanting a sneak peek.

For those of you Gents and Dames who really love the Payback movie, especially the “tampered” more viewer-friendly version, I have some good news.
I happened to be up very late last evening, unable to sleep, so I scrowled through my local On Demand provider’s latest offerings, and came upon a new Mel Gibson film called Get The Gringo. This is apparently a straight to DVD affair. Gibson playes Reginald T. Barnes, a career criminal and heister who gets caught on the Mexican side of the border with a bag full of cash and a dead partner, both dressed as clowns. He winds up having his ill-gotten gains stripped from him by two unethical Mexican cops and tossed into a very bizarre and somewhat surreal Mexican prison called El Pueblito, which I think means “little town/village”.
The film’s main plot takes off from there. He befriends a ten year old boy living with his mother (Yup. You read that right. In this prison, which resembles nothing so much as a large open-air Flea Market in Hell, convicts can have their families live with them while they’re doing time–for a price), and unfortunately for Mel, this particular boy is being “watched over” by the local prison Kingpin for a very odd reason: the Kingpin’s liver is failing and he needs the boy’s, because the boy shares the same extremely rare blood type. Concurrently the dude who Mel robbed the bagful of cash from finds out where Mel is, and sends goons to retrieve his money.
The film has a heavy “Payback” feel to it; it even has the same cheesy voiceover from Mel. It seems at times almost a sequel to Payback–again, the more light and fluffy version. I know some of you folks really liked that movie( I remember Chris “The Wolf” Lyons mentioning he memorized dialogue from the film, as to what ends I have no idea; maybe to impress a future date?), as opposed to Slayground, which only Clue and I seem to like. Then I think Santa has answered your prayers, as this is as close to a sequel as you’re gonna get.
