I think that the book club had an interesting criticism of the Parker books. While they thought the books were well written, they did not like them because they disliked Parker. I can see their point of view, but I doesn’t really matter to me. I don’t like Parker, but I’m fascinated by him. I would never want to meet Parker in real life, but seperate through the lens of fiction he and the crimes he commits are fascinating.
I don’t agree he’s a flat character though. Parker is just however very self-contained and very focus when he is on the job.
