I’ve got a copy of this that I picked up on eBay when it was first released. There’s a few differences between this and the official release…
The ARC is a full copy with the following differences:
– Colouring is different (bright blue highlights on bright white paper)
– Has a foreword from Scott Dunbier
– The insignia doesn’t have the ISBN listed under the IDW website
– The IDW symbol above their name on the title page
– The message “For Donald Westlake…” on the double page splash of the title isn’t there
– Pages 23 & 24 are reversed
– Missing the names Paul Westlake, Marsha and Amanda, Will Kane, Mike Strathford from the “Special Thanks”
– “Parker Will Return” teaser at the end is text only, and says “PARKER WILL RETURN IN 2010”
Murch:
Thanks for that. I would love to get my hands on that introduction…

Before the fist book wad even released I found one of these guys at a local used book store. They only wanted 5 bucks for it so there’s no way I could pass it up. I have the regular 1st edition and just got my hands on The Martini Edition, which is what reminded me that I had this copy. In one of the supplemental items Darwyn notes that there are only 300 advanced copies out there.
That’s how I became aware of the Darwyn Cooke adaptations myself. I stumbled onto the ARC at a local used book store as well, and was happily surprised to find out of it’s existence. It is one of the nicest ARCs I’ve ever come across, as other graphic novel ARCs have been almost xerox photocopies in crummy bindings. Was not aware that there were only 300 copies, though, so thanks for that tidbit. Is there an ARC for The Outfit? I’ve not heard of one nor seen one for sale anywhere…anybody here have one?
